Each trade on the peninsula gets found in its own way
I build websites for Fleurieu businesses that suit the way their own customers search. A cellar door in McLaren Vale and a plumber in Goolwa both need Google to find them, yet the pages that win the work look very different.
What actually keeps the Fleurieu ticking over
The Fleurieu Peninsula is small on the map but the economy is broad. Tourism brings Adelaide day trippers and interstate visitors to Victor Harbor, Goolwa and Normanville. Wine country runs from McLaren Vale and Willunga across to Langhorne Creek. Paddocks between Mount Compass, Yankalilla and Strathalbyn carry dairy, beef, sheep and a growing number of farm gate producers.
Then there is the steady local work. Builders, plumbers, electricians and landscapers are kept busy by new homes and renovations along the coast. A large retiree population means health, aged care, NDIS and allied health services matter here more than in most regions. Makers, galleries and shops round it out.
Same Google, very different customers
Holiday guests search from Adelaide or interstate weeks before they arrive. They want photos, dates, prices and a way to book without ringing.
A burst pipe or a power fault means a phone search right now. The number has to be big and the service area clear.
Choosing aged care, an NDIS provider or a physio takes time. Clear answers and calm writing build the trust that leads to a call.
People search by region and by experience, such as a cellar door with a view or a long lunch on a Saturday.
Wedding searches start with a season and a guest count. Galleries, packages and an enquiry form with a date field do the heavy lifting.
Farm produce, art and handmade goods can sell well beyond the peninsula when the website carries a proper shop.
Eighteen pages written for the trades and services of the Fleurieu
Each page explains what a good website looks like for that kind of business, how its customers search and what I would build. If your trade is not here, I still want to hear from you.

Specific pages earn specific searches
Google rewards pages that answer exactly what someone typed. A single page that says you do everything for everyone rarely ranks for anything. A page about holiday rental cleaning in Port Elliot has a fair shot at the people searching for that.
AI tools such as ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews work the same way. They pull short, clear answers from pages that name the service and the place. So every site I build has plain service pages, local wording and a set of honest answers to the questions your customers ask.
If you are starting from scratch, a new website is the place to begin. If you already have one that is not bringing in work, local SEO or a website redesign may be the better fit.
Four steps, whatever the trade
1
A phone or video call about your work, your customers and the jobs you want more of.
2
I check what people type for your trade and towns plus who already ranks.
3
Pages are written for your industry and built in WordPress you can edit.
Straight answers for Fleurieu business owners
Got a question that isn’t listed? Ring or message me and you’ll hear back from me, not a call centre, within one working day.
Website Design Victor Harbor builds websites for Fleurieu businesses across tourism, wine, farming, trades, health and retail. It is run by Nick, a Victor Harbor web designer who has been building websites since 1995. Each site is written around the trade and the towns it serves, then set up for local SEO from the start.
Most Fleurieu industries need a different website layout because their customers want different things. A motel needs booking and photos up front, a plumber needs a big phone button and a builder needs a strong project gallery. The core build is the same WordPress setup, but the pages and wording change for each trade.
One web designer can handle very different south coast businesses when the planning starts with the customer instead of a template. I ask who calls you, what they search and which jobs pay best. Those answers shape the pages, which is why a cellar door site and a trade site end up looking nothing alike.
A website for a Victor Harbor tourism or trade business starts at $880 for a single page site and $2200 for a complete multi page site. Sites with online bookings or a shop start from $3300. All prices include GST and a free first year of WordPress maintenance. Domain and hosting are extra.
Website Design Victor Harbor is a Fleurieu web business run by Nick, who plans websites around the peninsula’s busy and quiet seasons. Summer, school holidays and whale season all change what people search. I build pages that can be updated quickly so specials, events and opening hours stay current through the year.
Fleurieu businesses usually get the best long term value from SEO, with Google Ads used for busy seasons or new services. SEO builds steady visibility that keeps working. Google Ads bring calls straight away but stop when the budget does. Many of my clients start with SEO and add ads for summer.
I work with businesses on Kangaroo Island, in Strathalbyn and right across the Fleurieu by phone, email and video call. Distance makes no difference to the website itself. Local pages for each town you serve help Google show your business to the right people. See the areas I cover.
Send me a few lines about what you do and where your customers come from. I will come back with a plain plan and a fixed price.
